Cancer Welfare Society Lucknow

C. E. O.

Cancer welfare Society is a ISO certifiede National Level Social Organization working for the control of Cancer by spreading awareness among the masses under the guidelines of WHO and NCCP of Govt. of India for the past one decade. Cancer is the second biggest Killer disease in the world after heart diseases and its incidence is going to increase by 500% in the coming 25 yrs. according to WHO. Unfortunately 80% of the casess are detected in the third (incurable) stage but if detected in the Primary stage, cancer can be completely cured at a very affordable cast. We organize a sponsored awareness programme in the school free of cost during which a lecture is delivered during the assembly about good living habits, healthy dietary habits, cancer control. Tobacco control, passive smoking and warning signals of the disease in the primary stage in different parts of body followed by distribution of awareness form to the student containing all the necessary information, student are supposed to take their parents permission and then spread this awareness to their family members, relatives, friends and neighbours etc. and get their names and signature on the forms. Donation are not compulsory but we do accept voluntary donation if any students, teachers and the institution are rewarded with certificates, medals, cups, momentos etc. for their co-operation during this social work.

We generate awareness through the School because-
  • We access a large section of the society by one to one contact through the students, e.g. 500 students contacting 10 people each day generate awareness among 500 people daily resulting in mass-awareness.
  • Students are quick in learning and sharing information with others. Smaller the child more information is disseminated by him. Younger students have a better appeal on tobacco hence the program is more effective in primary section of the school.
  • They keep this information with them, give it to their parents and elders and when they grow up they will take care of their children. Thus we are large ting the hree generations simultaneously so that in the coming 20 years we would cover all the sections of the society.
  • They learn to do a little for others in this selfish world and thus become responsible citizens of the future.
  • They accept small voluntary donation, which become substantial amount pooled together and is utilized in our fight against cancer.
